[TRANS] anan August Issue - Junho

Junho is releasing his mini album “FEEL” after about a year. This album, which he produced on his own, is said to be a piece of work that contains a meaning of current “Life-sized Me”


“Although my 1st Mini Album “Kimi No Koe”, released last year, was a refreshing album with refresing atmosphere, this album became one where I dance unknowingly to myself because of the brightness and dynamism it has. I hope everyone who will listen to this album, which I enjoyed producing all the tracks with the composer hyungs, will feel the current “Junho”, a different one from the last year’s.”

Let’s ask him what his reason is in choosing “FEEL” as a title track for the album that contains various genred songs in it.

“Because it was the first song that came into mind? (Laughs)” he answered that with humour.

“This is my personal thought but there are many of recently popular song which are provocative and they give great impacts, right. But I think that the melodies that stay in one’s heart through his nostalgic feeling towards an old song, are cool. Although it’s monotonous, I thought that it would be good if there were such song that can remind one of past times suddenly. That’s why during the production of “FEEL” I thought I want to mix that both sides. A melody that contains the current popular beat and that nostalgic feeling. It would be nice if these two elements could be enjoyed at the same time.”

Is there a song that you’d like to recommend for “anan” female readers who are working?

“It should be “Always (Zutto)” This song sings about one’s crush developping in him who meets a certain someone and thinks about that someone all the times eventhough they’re not lovers yet. How that someone always appears when he’s at home, when he closes his eyes, even in his dream... The song fully contains that kind of exciting feelings. Because, I think it’s important for such an exciting moment during one’s ordinary life to exist. So I hope you’ll listen to the song on your way from work~!”

Junho who is usually doing a group activity in 2PM. We’re also curious about the other members’ response, about this album.

“I recently gave Minjun hyung and Chansung a listen. Both of them praised me by saying “It’s good.” I also gave Wooyoung a listen but he said “I don’t know if I only listen to it only once.” (Laughs) Referring to my solo activities, the members really don’t say anything. Because I also did last year, it just feels like “You’ll do well again for this time also” from them. But they usually come to see my concert or text me with “Have strength!” They show it more in actions rather than words. That gives me strength. I’m thankful for it.”

I had to be on my toes when I was 20 years old. Now, I want to enjoy the current time.

Junho who debuted as a member of 2PM in his teens, also became a 24 years old Toshio Toko this year. (A phrase for one who is at the age of that year’s zodiac. As Junho was born in the year of horse.)

Junho who is favorably getting older, says that an “adult man” is a “man who has responsibility.”

“Although I don’t know whether it’s a common answer, I think it’s really the correct one. Just that recently, I don’t know whether I have the right definition of an “adult”. But in the past 10 years, I have been interested in what kind of an adult I want to be... I want to be as I am now. That I’m not sick, I have no wrinkles and that my appearance doesn’t change. It will be the best if it really happens so. (Laughs) Personally, I wish not to be a smooth talker talks about something like greatly breaking through the world. Although I’m giving a proper judgement, I want to be an adult who doesn’t lose his mind, one who can be encouraged even by little things, and is able to make a new something out of those.”

If so, is there any recent moment when you feel that you have been an adult?

“Sometime ago, I went alone to the neighborhood where I lived when I was little, but I got really nostalgic that I almost cried. Even it’s furnished as time passed, that place hasn’t changed and stayed the way it was... When I stood on the street to my school, I had a really an interesting feeling, like seeing the back view of the little ‘me’ in white T-shirt. Because it’s a place full of the memories when I was little. And the moment I felt that I’ve become an adult mentally, is when I had just entered my 20th year, I tried hard to look more of an adult even it’s a bit, but now I think that I want to look cuter even it’s a bit. This is a great change. Anyways, about getting older, I think I will have to enjoy what I’m able to do in that particular age I am. That’s why I want to do my best in enjoying the 24 years old ‘me’!”

Junho was born on January 25th 1990. Through his debut as a member of 2PM in Korea in 2008, he gained an exploasive popularity in Asia.

In 2011, the release of Japan first single ‘Take Off’. Last year, he achieved a success through his accomplishment as the first in 2PM to debut in Japan.

This year on July 9th, the release of his own produced 2nd Solo Album “FEEL”

From July 3rd onwards, the start of JUNHO Solo Tour 2014 “FEEL”

Touring around Sapporo, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka, Tokyo, he’s planned to reach for its final in Nippon Budokan.
